It was may 15, 2024 when we visited Oslob, Cebu for another Whale Sharking Watching Trip! We booked a place near the place so we will be accommodated first, early in the morning.
At 4 AM- May 16 2024; we already started falling in line to get out priority number; we’re accommodated around 6 AM and soon as we’re done paying, we were guided to proceed to lifejacket area. We’re guided by someone who’s selling waterproof cases for phones.
I wasn’t expecting that the guide was also selling something else, a trip to SUMILON ISLAND- P1,500 good for 5 pax. I already had a feeling that there’s something behind his kindness; I was about to feel bad and I don’t want to feel bad. Well, to be honest, I have always wanted to visit sumilon island but none of those I’ve asked say “Yes” to be.
It’s always a rejection; but the universe really made it happened in an unexpected way. I was not informed that it was my “Ate’s” birthday that day. I think it would be best if she will enjoy the day since they have not really enjoyed snorkeling the other day because there’s no fishes in that area; waves were strongest and we have not really enjoyed beaching; we do enjoyed taking photos.
So I swallowed by pride and helped kuya sell! I have to convince “Ate” to visit sumilon once again to snorkel; and luckily, she ended up saying “Yes” after so many thoughts. She once visited the place, it was expensive and she did not really enjoyed the stay. So when she finally said “Yes!” I was relieved. Instead of being negative, I turned the situation into a positive experience by being honest with my feelings; I really really wanted to visit the place ever since 2014 when I first saw it.
I’m honestly so lucky and happy that they have enjoyed the fishes, the diving, etc. I did too! Sumilon Island was like the finishing point of our escapade. Whale shark watching may not be that exciting because “Ate” was scared to dive and we’re not masters at swimming, but at least we had a blast in Sumilon Island for an affordable price.
I never thought it would be that easy to visit sumilon. I thought I have to book a whole big boat for me; I realized I never had to find someone or team to be with me, I just have to be with them. I just have to be with them! Problem solved! Now I’m thinking of heading to bukidnon.
Anyway, I’m so happy to share that my desires are slowly becoming true! I felt listened by the universe and I feel blessed. So blessed. It’s nice to be doing the things that you love doing with the right people. So always take rejection as redirection.
You deserve something better, just believe in yourself; you can do it! Know that the universe will conspire to give what you want and need at the right time. So no need to force anything. It will be given to you, when you’re ready.
