I have finally decided to visit DaanBantayan, after spending time chosing between Bantayan Island and Camotes Island. Neither of those two really made me feel like going; I had no reason to go, besides, it was raining.
So, soon as I have chosen to visit Daanbantayan instead, I felt that extreme excitement; I saw that Nipa Hut I was searching 2 months ago with a friend. That time, I decided to visit Danasan because it was raining; this time, rain never stopped me; I read reviews and booked the room right away.
Never bothered to worry about food because I know Nanay Rosa’s cooking would satisfy my stomach; based on the review left by a foreign couple who stayed at Suba Beach, Nipa Hut. It was indeed a very nice stay!
I posted soon as I booked it! I have finally booked a room for the first time in my life. I used to just go right straight to my destination and hope there is an available room for me. But this time, I really did it! I went alone, solo! It felt so exciting. Fear never came to mind, it’s no longer in my way, my desire is stronger than anything else.
To defeat fear, you must make your desire 7 times stronger.
I was very excited that I have travelled that far, finally! It’s not as scary as I previously thought it was. When you’re in the right direction, you’ll know it because you will feel a weird feeling. You will know when it’s not the right place or if it’s the right one.
- I have exercised my human physical connection.
I was so happy that I got to exercise my human physical connection. I met new people, fellow travellers from China, Korea, Russia; wow, they all smiled at me, and all I did was smiled back. How I wish I had the courage to ask where they’re from and where they’re heading and I wish I had said, “Enjoy you stay!”
The next time I’ll meet new people in my future travel, I will surely try to connect, but a smile was more than good enough. I hope my simple smile and cute “Good morning” satisfies them. Although, I know in my heart, I could have done better. “Way to go myself!”
2. I learned to practice my ability to stick to the plan and be firm in my decisions.
On my way back home, while waiting for a bus, 5 vans tried pursuing me; the men were really tempting, they offered me less payment, they thought I’m a student. They joked if I was scared of “White Vans” so they offered, “You’ll be seated in the front seat.” I said, “NO” to all of them, while being thankful and grateful for their kindness. My decision did not change nor waiver.
I wanted to ride a BUS going to Cebu instead of a Van, for the following reasons:
- I can see the view
- I can smell the fresh air
- I feel excited because buses runs so fast! It’s thrilling.
- I can see more people.
- I can buy delicacies without getting out.
Travelling Solo, makes me exercise my ability to ask the right questions; it helped me trust myself more; listen to my instinct more and of course it helped me exercise my ability to say NO to offers that weren’t necessary. It helped me decide on my own. It’s very exciting to feel completely in control of your choices.
But most importantly, I learned to make friends with children. They took a photo of me. How I wish I can post them, but I didn’t take their photo to respect their privacy. Look at the beauty of the sunset:

It’s the most beautiful photo I’ve had so far. Thanks to my little friends.
In my stay, I never felt bored; there’s always a cat helping me with my food. It’s funny and annoying at the same time but I love it anyway. Enjoy the view!
Go travel now! You’re fine! See you someday travelers!
