Early this year, I summited Mt. Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines. Months prior to that I dreamt of Climbing the mountains but it seemed so uncertain, given that I haven’t known anyone who would dare climb that highest mountain. I didn’t even knew back then where in the Philippines Mt. Apo is even located.
I kept on posting on social media expressing my deepest interest in that Summit. Jealousy and excitement creeps in upon seeing those international climbers posting their achievements in social media; moreover, the “Blinds” as well “Kids” raising their flags at the Summit. “I have to do it too! There’s gotta be a way!”
A friend commented, “Rosey, you have lots of friends who will climb with you.” I guess I believed her even if I had no one back then. Months came by and we’re having a team building in Mactan New Town; that day, I overheard my teammates talking about visiting “Alicia Panoramic View in Bohol” and I got excited, wanting to also join them.
I’ve met three more Bravehearts and two of them invited me for Mt. Apo. My impulse says “YES”, so it was planned. However, weeks before the scheduled event, Earthquakes everywhere shook Cebu as well as Davao, causing my anxiety to act up. I was really sorry that I couldn’t make it. Nevertheless, they kept going anyway because they already booked their flights.
I’m glad they’re successful! Their success gave me the courage to also prepare for my own climb a month after, January 17, 2026. I asked for a guide referral and I contacted him right away. Although I did not end up with “CEE Jee’s” team, I was referred to the best team ever, “Cain’s III” a 100km finisher and a champion in Davao, which really gave me 100% confidence that I will reached the summit this time.
As a solo joiner, I met other solo Joiners too that became my friends during and after the success we’ve accomplished together. They’ve been so kind to me and accommodating. We added each other on Facebook and still get in contact with a few of them on social media, congratulating them with their recent accomplishments as well reaching out to them if needing help.
They were the friends my other friend was referring to; friends I haven’t met yet, and since I believed, it gets manifested. Believe and it will be. Just like everything else I have accomplished in life, from completing my High school and Bachelor’s Degree to Solo Travelling, working in a Prestigious Company, Climbing the highest mountain the Philippines as well as Completing my 42Km Full Marathon Run last Oct. 11, 2026. Kept on believing and surround yourself with good friends who see good things in you.
