In Reconnecting With Yourself & Finding Your Tribe

Challenge yourself to try new things, new activities, and new ideas; and allow yourself to be surrounded by people who appreciate and understand your hobbies, personalities, and way of life.

Not everyone will understand, so value those people who values you. Life is too short chasing and impressing someone or anyone who have already decided to unlike you no matter what you do.

Likeminded people supports each other, uplift each other and grow together. Seeing the trekking community everywhere I trekked, makes me happy specially when they’re with friends and family. How wonderful!

As long as they’re happy, I am also happy. Seeing good things makes me feel good too and feel inspired to keep moving forward. If you can clap at someone else’s success means that one day you’ll achieve that too.

“One day, I’ll be standing in the Summit of Mt. Apo, so I did. One day, I’ll finish my 42km run, so I did.” So today, I did my first solo trekking at Lake Lhuilier. It was the quietest walk of all time, and definitely needed after a long long week.

Before that, I’ve had the best chill at the CampSite eating Pancit Canton While Observing the hikers positive Auras. They were all quiet, disciplined, grounded, happy and content in silence. How I wish I made atleast one acquaintance, unfortunately I wouldn’t say a single word unless needed or someone will ask me anything.

Yet a community like that is a dream! We were all just sitting silently, relaxing, and letting each other’s groups be, no judgments, just surprises. A few “Hi’s” and “Hello’s”, and a “Good morning!” I felt safe trekking alone, while taking good photos and videos.

On my way back to the city, the motorcycle guy noticed that the sky gets darker and shared how hard it is for childrens getting flus. I kind of empathized a little because my GodDaughter was also having runny nose, luckily she’s okay now, “Her Mom Posted.”

At the bus, neighbors were joking and laughing; and I had so much fun observing and listening. Majority of the passengers were seniors, so it felt like rewatching the old times at the province. It felt good to be surrounded by elders; it reminded me of how caring the elders of our town was. It still exist.

The roads looks similar back when I was in high school, going to school on foot. Feeling reconnected to a part of me that had been ignored and forgotten. Hikers searching for food on trail reminds me of the old times, climbing fruit trees, all for free.

I met the “American Lady Volunteer” again, along with the family who hosted her. They were picking trashes because they don’t want the trail to be closed too like the “Spartan Trail” in Pamutan. “Get fruit but eat it.” “Make it a habit to pick up garbages you see on trail.” Those where the words I heard from the local trekkers.
