HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: 42 shooting stars seen @ Camp Adela in Guadalupe, Cebu; camping site!

A year ago, I searched for places to camp and trek, and I heard about this place in Guadalupe, Cebu; but I wasn’t courageous enough to pursue it on my own. I kept on delaying, waiting for someone to be with me or to invite me.

This year I’m finally able to develop trust in my gut feelings that I decided to simply book @ camp adela. Getting to book was quite challenging too because they have rules to follow and I found it quite interesting and it really fuels my motivation to GO!

Reservation was none refundable so you really have to go; sometimes change is not necessary specially if everything is doing good. Although I was tired, even if I rested whole night before that trip, but it did not stop me from finally visiting the place.

I had to ride 5 times from Lapu-Lapu city; off to STI high way, then Ayala Center Cebu, another ride to Banawa Chowking Guadalupe road, got another ride to Guadalupe Church, then it’s where I waited for my guide; suggested by the owner itself.

I chose him because his name sounds veteran and familiar. The other guide was with me all night because I went alone and it’s his duty to watch over campers and listen to their needs. I was lucky to have both of them around.

Camp adela is nowhere in the Map so you’ll have to get a guide; otherwise, you’ll get lost. There were many turns; I remember we go down left, then go right all the time. There were three turns you must be careful when choosing; wrong turns will bring you to different destinations.

The last turn going up would be the most challenging of all. Only veteran riders or the local masters in riding motorcycles can get through that muddy road going up when it rains. It’s not even a road, it’s like a passage for trekking. I would suggest that if you’re into adventure, trek going up.

It will be exhausting, but the next time I’ll visit the place, I will go by foot. Although the guides were masters, if you chose an adventure ride instead, then trust your guide, they’ll keep you safe, they’re very good at balancing. But if they’ll miss the right spot and your vehicle will go out of balance in that 3rd turn, there’s a possibility that you will fall off that cliff, so relax when you’re back-riding, trust your guides.

Your courage will bring you so far and it’s going to be so worth it. Above photo is the camping site. I visited in the weekdays since my rest days fall on weekdays; so there’s no crowd, not fully booked, so quiet, and I was SOLO camping. Although my guide was with me, so I wasn’t totally alone.

My Thursday night at camp adela was the best! I heard crickets, birds, wind whooping; I saw Cebu city lights, 180 view, better than any other camping site I have visited, although their service were all good! ( camp adela, Mt. Manunggal, Soul Sierra, etc.)

I had first time experiences @ Camp Adela. It’s my first time sleeping in my new Hammock, so cold yet the cold didn’t bother me at all because it’s not hurting, it’s so natural that I enjoyed it so much!

Since I was alone, I set up my hammock!

I’m not even sure if that was allowed, but I did it anyway without damaging anything. I’m not so heavy, so it was good for me. It was the best cold I have ever felt. At this point, I can say that Mt. Manunggal was ended very cold at night, but Camp Adela will not turn you down.

It offers the best view of the city as well as the mountains! It’s the only place I saw shooting stars around 2AM – 4AM (I’m a night shifter so I’m usually awake from midnight to morning). Do you know what’s so special? I have seen not only one, but 42 shootings stars! The 22nd and 3rd was the yellowish, the biggest and the longest! It was so addicting.

I felt so safe and never felt scared, not at all. With my guide being so entertaining; talking about a lot of things, stories about the place and about how beautiful the view was; at least I had someone to share that beauty with.

“You’re never alone, you will always find someone who’s going to be your friend.”

Do what makes you happy, but do it NOW while you can, before you keep yourself busy. I understand, our reason was NO TIME, NO MONEY, but it’s not true! How come you have time and money for something else that doesn’t even make you happy. Live a life, my dearest transformers! Money will come back to you, with good health, mind-body-soul; the money you invested for your happiness will multiply.

Enjoy the view! I’m definitely coming back with a nice camera! A camera that can capture that city lights and the shooting star! Soon enough, I’ll go get that device and own it! I’m excited for Jeju 2025! I’m going there! I’m going to that mountains! Japan, Bali, China; then Europe!

For now, let’s enjoy my local adventures; where I live, where I grow up, where I first saw the light and life on earth! 42 wishes coming true and seeing YOU is one of it! See you in my next adventures!

In case you wanna follow me, this is how I look from behind:

Ciao! ☺️
