The first time I visited Kawasan Falls was way back 2014 with Kris. I was a first time traveller travelling with a stranger, I thought I was guiding him but I was actually just following him and I hated that truth; my ego was too thick back then, it’s embarrassing that I didn’t have much control but I’m so lucky that I went.

Back then, there was a raft and I’ve had the best massage of the kawasan water falling. I can feel the softness of the water that to me was very magical. Since then, I did not dare try again until year 2024 with a workmate, then I did it solo in 2025, finally brought my brother in 2026.
Canyoneering had been in my list that have not been fulfilled yet, it would be nice to do it with a group, hopefully soon. A lot of experiences 10+ years ago that went so right the past few years. Expectations met this time, a perfect example to keep it open and to keep trying again.
10+ years ago, I wouldn’t dare swim in a deep water, even with a life jacket. The second time I visited Kawasan, I was able to swim through the rope and attempting to go across the other side but failed but I’ve had the best fun ever!

On my third visit, no one was around, it was the quietest day ever, not even a single dog or cat, just the birds, very unusual. The childlike fear of being alone + the monsters came back but that time I did not run like I did in the past.

The Forth visit was with my brother. He’s a perfect lesson of not going against the current in order to swim. You have to dance with it. He was not able to swim well because the water was too strong he can’t beat it. It was such a funny day watching him. It was his first time and it’s naturally normal. I made sure his life jacket was tucked in correctly.

Kawasan is top #1 of the best waterfalls I had been to in the Philippines. I liked the bluish water and no other waterfalls I’ve seen like it. It’s so beautiful, I’d keep coming back. Canyoneering would be my next goal and will do it pretty soon. Will invest in water gears.
Regardless of how great the place it is still up to you on how to experience it. Either you’ll focus on the negative side or you focus on the fun and the good energy vibes. Everything you’re experiencing is up to you; this is what I learned from watching myself in a beautiful painting, the “Adventurous and Go go go self” versus the “Hiding scared self who doesn’t want to be seen.” Your choice.
