Benefits of Solo Trekking: Starbuks Trail Cebu PH

I went for a solo trek end of September to exercise my ability to do things on my own. Aside from that I also need to unwind time to time, to let go of negative thoughts, to process emotions and to keep on going no matter what.

Because I was alone that time, I found a new hubby, that’s to record where I’m heading, with the intention of guiding other solo trekkers a little. Check out the video below, if you want to try this route.

I’d like to show you some of my photos too, later on. For now, let me share some of the few benefits you’ll get from Trekking, even if you’re with somebody. Since I’m alone, let’s talk about solo trekking.

Trekking solo, will exercise your positive thinking skills, otherwise you will not reach your goal. It will help you trust yourself more and you will also have the courage to ask for help specially when you seem a little lost.

This is the best way to change your depressing thoughts because when you set a goal, you have to think of your next step rather than what happened in the past. It’s also the best way to face anxiety because you have to think positively and stay present because if you will overthink there’s a higher chances of falling out of balance.

This is a kind of hack into regaining your consciousness and happiness, appreciating what’s on the present and trusting your gut feelings. You will also be encouraged to pray, be silent and just keep going. This is a very easy thing to do, you just have to walk, little by little until you reach your next destination.

I intentionally tried a new route going to Starbukz, and I also tried the hardest trail. I had fun taking video and it really helped me reached the top of Starbukz! I may have almost collapsed, but looking at the black ants doing their little climb leaf to leaf, I realized I wasn’t alone and that cheered me up.

Trying new things will help you become more resilient. Change will make you happier instead. It may sound a little new to you but you’ll see how happy you will become after conquering each challenges you have decided to try on.

I stayed for hours at the top like I always wanted to. I ate food, drink a lot and listen to music like I’d always do when I’m in the province. I noticed a guy in yellow Marathon Shirt, whom have been trekking back and forth for 3 rounds already as far as I’ve seen, and I was wondering what’s up with him, “Maybe for a goal; Maybe he’s going through something.” Then I realized, I wasn’t alone.

On my way back to Cebu City, I was redirected to try a new route because the old route that I knew and seem familiar to me was blocked. Trying that other trail was an achievement because I was really wanting to try that route. Being redirected was a blessing, always in disguise.

The next Rest Day, I went to Mt. Naupa with a colleague and it was also successful. Read and watch Mt. Naupa’s adventure in my next post! One thing I learned from that adventure is to “Keep Going Until You See the Greenest Pasture.” When you see that, you know you have reached your Goal! 😍
